Hey Everyone! I thought I would just give you a short intro about myself and why I am starting this blog. The excited looking girl to the left, that's me!
I am a fun, intelligent, sarcastic woman who is just trying to make a difference in the world. How am I going to do that though?
I got my bachelors of science from The Ohio State University, which I loved but never understood the rivalry (can't we all just get along), in Animal Science. Most people ask if I wanted to be a vet, which I did when I was young but after hearing an amazing speaker by the name of Katherine Harrison, I decided I wanted to be a goat farmer. You can check out the awesomeness at her blog site: http://harrisonfarm13.blogspot.com/.

I thought I was going to make my mark on the world through farming. I wanted to have my meat goat operation that eventually could source dairy products as well. I had the business plan, and all sorts of wild ideas for an amazing farm. However, in order to obtain my farm and all the necessary equipment, I needed money. Money I did not, and still do not have. :(
No money for a farm ... no money for goats ... My face!
So I thought back, what was I really good at as a kid. Almost everyone in my life used to tell me "you would make such a good teacher!". Thus, after much soul searching, sleepless nights, and peanut butter 'n chip UDF ice cream, I decided that I should have listened to everyone when I was younger, and now I am on my way to becoming a teacher. So, with my new direction in life ( being a high school life science/ chemistry teacher), I am able to reevaluate how I am going to make a difference in the world. My new goal is to bring a love of science and a desire to learn to high school students.

So, what exactly does the name of my blog mean? it is quite simple actually. I will endeavor to find new and exciting ways to bring the farm into the classroom. From using chicks to showcase development and embryology, to examining owl pellets to look at the food chain and skeletal systems, to even showing how our food is grown and produced.
So I hope you have as much fun on this journey as I will!
